Have one of these in Scotland, suspension is simply superb on rough potholed undulating roads, great steering brakes and clutch. And a functional attractive exterior and interior. A bit heavy on fuel (petrol) but the saving on cost outweighs it. Unbelievable value.

The tesla model Y has a 7 seat option and you do not lose as much space in the back. Also the model x has a more spacious 7 seater option for 80k configured. So about 14k more than this one. This may not be too big of a difference for many and the X comes with front and back tv’s with theater streaming services.

Flywheel went at 10k miles, quick replacement under warranty. Sadly mine's been written off in a smash, would get another.

The videos price point is not actually true, it only sold at that price in the west because of tariffs, the true sales price is much lower, but the government won't allow the people to benefit, so actually do to true price everything comparable BYD is much more value.

Literally trying to decide between these 2 a the moment, so a very useful review. For me, the only significant advantage that the Tiguan has is the bigger boot and sliding rear seats. Other than that the XC40 is the clear winner.

Whats insane is that most diesel cars could do this trip for the same price the tesla did it in if not less. Its insane how expensive those charge stations are.

No physical buttons in the dash and lackluster VW infotainment is a deal breaker.

No physical climate controls, so I won’t be replacing our two year old Cooper S with this, and the heads up display with the screen is not great, if it had the physical controls then we would purchase..great shame .

I really don't understand why every car reviewer talks about the hard plastics.

2.0 litre is a definite plus for the volvo. The 1.5 in VW will have to work much harder especially when fully loaded. I've got the 1.5 in a mark 7 golf estate and i agree it's a bit coarse and loud when revved. Good in everyday use but not an engine to enjoy revving out. If the extra weight of the Tiguan means it has to rev higher to keep up that won't be very nice. The extra sophistication from having an engine with more torque is nice in the volvo.

Im not sure it will hold onto value. My £32000 ‘72 plate’ Mini Electric is worth £16,000 today. 50% less in 1.5 years 😮
